LESSON IN JEWISH EMPATHY TAUGHT BY DRUZE ALLY

Druse soldier asks not to partake in evacuation
The IDF got its first request not to participate in the evacuation of Gaza settlers from a non-Jewish soldier on Thursday, IDF officials said.

Druse soldier Sgt. Timor Abdallah of the Herev batallion wrote a letter, which he sent directly to IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Dan Halutz, in which he cited motives of conscientious objection.

"When my colleagues and I are demanded to participate in operations whose objective is to defend the country and its citizens, we feel obliged to participate," Abdallah's letter was quoted by Army Radio. "But when we are asked to participate in an operation against the people we are meant to defend - our consciences would tremble eternally."  (JPost)

ORANGE  REVOLUTION

My friend Ploni Almoni from the territories called up yesterday and we spoke on his dime while he was riding from work, in Jerusalem, to his home in the Shomron. Around Kalkilya we got disconnected.

The gist of Ploni’s message was that Enough already with Vicki Polin, you beat her down, she’s finished, lay off her cuz it’s boring.

I couldn’t agree more, although I’m the kind of horror movie watcher who knows the dying dragon has another good claw-slap in it before the final curtain comes down.

So we both agreed that anyone who still wants to read our successful campaign against the bizarre Awareness Center and its even more bizarre operator can consult the index on the right side of this page. For everyone else, the focal point of our existence from now until further notice will be the planned evacuation of between eight and ten thousand Jews from their homes this summer.

Come back here on a fairly regular basis, to read news and tidbits about the upcoming creation of:

Judenrein in Judenland

JUDENREIN: "Free of Jews." The initial aim of Nazi policy was to make Germany free of Jews. By making life unbearable, German Jews were forced to try to emigrate. Through "legal" means, the State eliminated Jews from German society. In January 1942, the Nazis decided to make all of Europe "free of Jews" through mass murder.

(Simon Wiesenthal Center)

Incidentally, we ran the same term in Altavista’s Babelfish program and got this result:

Jew-purely

Indeed, the current aim of the Sharon and Bush regimes is to create a Jew-purely place on the face of the earth. Along with Saudi Arabia and all the other Arab states save for Morocco, Israel will become the first non-Arab US ally to purify itself of the race of Christ killers.

Wake me up at the end of this nightmare, I don’t want to wet myself alone.

THE ULTIMATE WEAPON

"Take off your orange ribbon"

As the scheduled disengagement from Gaza and parts of the West Bank draws near, it seems even the most honorable state establishments are showing signs of exaggerated edginess: Courthouse security guards confiscated a right-wing activist's orange ribbon in exchange for a slip that said he had deposited a firearm at the security desk. (Ynet)

Orange Cell covers TA cars in orange ribbon

Hundreds of students, members of the anti-disengagement group "Orange Cell" spread out over Tel Aviv's streets overnight Sunday and hung tens of thousands of orange ribbons on cars. The students even distributed flyers with quotes from left-wing politicians who had at one point or another opposed the disengagement plan because of security concerns. (JPost)

Sentiment Drifting Toward Settlers

Chanting “the king is blind” over the rhythms of darbuka drums, the demonstrators tied orange ribbons on passers-by and mopeds in a show of solidarity with some 9,000 Israelis slated to be uprooted from their homes.

Even though the legal avenues to challenge the withdrawal seemed to close last week when the Supreme Court upheld the pullout, the ribbon campaign and a handful of new public opinion polls showing diminishing support for the pullout have encouraged the settlers that maybe it isn’t too late to stop the evacuation scheduled for August. (Jewish Week)

Jerusalem Mall Bars Orange Ribbon Patrons

Jerusalem’s Malcha Mall tonight implemented a new policy, instructing security personnel to prevent anyone from entering if displaying an orange ribbon or any other sign of solidarity with Gush Katif and northern Shomron residents.

Mall operators are following the lead of Israel Police, which has been prohibiting entry into areas such as the Western Wall with orange ribbons and tee-shirts. The same holds true in Knesset where visitors have been instructed to remove orange garments in order to be permitted entry into the parliament building. (IsraelNN.com)
